Richards would love Tevez back playing for Man City
Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards has spoken of how he would love to see outcast striker Carlos Tevez back playing for Manchester City’s first team.
Tevez has been out of Manchester City manager’s Roberto Mancini’s plans ever since refusing to come off the bench during City’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich. With it being widely speculated that the talented Argentine would be offloaded by City during the January transfer window as a result.
But the 28 year old striker has once again resumed training with the Man City first team and is now apparently part of Mancini’s first team plans.
Richards has spoken of his admiration for Tevez stating:
“I’ve always been a big fan of Tevez . When I’m asked about him I always say I love him. Ultimately its up to the manager but I’d love to see him back. There were games last season where Carlos carried us on his own. In matches like the one at Swansea on Sunday he would get a 1-0 win for us.”
With ten games left to go and with City relinquishing top spot to rivals and neighbours Manchester United, Richards could well see his wish come true and Tevez restored to the City starting lineup as this season’s title race reaches an exciting climax.
