Blackburn chase Zenden
Steve Kean is set to turn to former Barcelona and Holland winger Boudewijn (“Bolo”) Zenden.
Zenden, 35, has had a particularly glittering career and has won League titles in Spain, Holland, domestic titles in Holland, and England, and he enjoyed European success whilst playing for Liverpool. He is, however, a free agent having left Sunderland last year and taking some time out of the game for family reasons.
Zenden is now ready to pull on the football boots once more and Steve Kean has been alerted to his availability and, once convinced about his fitness levels, he is ready to offer the winger a short-term deal at Ewood Park.
Despite being in his mid-30′s, Zenden is somewhat naturally fit and he managed 27 appearances for Sunderland last season. He was offered a new contract at the Stadium of Light but it was Zenden who made the decision to part ways with Sunderland after a two season association.
Blackburn have been interested in signing Zenden before and they were in the race for the Dutch midfielder before he opted for a move to Sunderland. If he does sign for Blackburn this time round, he will add some vital experience, and a bit of flair to their brave fight against the drop.
