Arsenal line up Valbuena

emiratesinside 150x112 Arsenal line up ValbuenaArsenal, who have experienced a dramatic upturn in form lately, are set to deal with their midfield problems with the signing of France international Mathieu Valbuena.

Valbuena, 27, currently plays for Marseille in Ligue 1, and he has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League. That interest appears to have turned his head as he has confirmed to manager Didier Deschamps that he would like a fresh challenge for next season.

Valbuena is an attacking midfielder who has outstanding technical ability. He is perfectly apt at playing as a winger and he would be the perfect replacement/ upgrade for Theo Walcott, who looks set to depart from the Emirates such are his wage demands and generally inconsistent performances.

If deployed as an advanced central midfielder, Valbuena would add the attacking spark that has been missing from Arsenal since Fabregas left, a gap which Aaron Ramsey failed to step up and plug this season.

Whilst Valbuena would be a very astute Arsenal signing, there are still other pressing deficiencies which Arsene Wenger must address including an incredible overreliance on Dutchman Robin Van Persie (whose future is still undecided) and a leaky defence, the cracks of which are being papered over by some outstanding performances by Szczesny.

    A very good player, has been impressive whenever I have seen him, but I think Arsenal can find players better than him, in the class of a Fabregas or a Nasri. Arsenal need a real creative talent in mid-field, and with Wilshere fit next season, I dont really see any utility for a similar player in Valbuena.

      Stupid comment, wilshere and Valbuena are completely different and Valbuena is exactly what we need, also a better player than Nasri. He could play wide left or centre attack midfield. He would be a cheaper option than Gotze and more experienced! Great signing

    nice comment: valbuena ‘ll be a good player to sign in to arsenal …he’s far better than NASRI even cheaper than him WITSHERE & VALBIUENA are totally difference….VABUENA is good in attacking midfield and in wide open midfield like left wing versatile player as well even better than GOTZE & HAZARD .that’s is all we need in EPL titles and in CHMP nice negotiation…hn!
