West Brom to make decision over Maynard
West Brom manager Roy Hodgson is to make a decision as to whether to bid for Bristol City’s transfer listed striker Nicky Maynard later this week.
The Baggies as well as Swansea City have been strongly linked with Maynard who had only 6 months remaining on his current deal at Ashton Gate.
Maynard who was the subject of a £6 million bid from Championship side Leicester City in the summer has steadfastly refused to sign a new deal with the Ashton Gate club, which resulted in City placing him on the transfer list at the end of December.
Maynard who cost City a club record £2.25 million has aspirations of playing in the Premier League and West Brom if they decide to make an approach should be able to sign him for a little over £2 million.
Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is also monitoring the situation.
