Wenger set for Rosicky showdown talks

wenger1 150x150 Wenger set for Rosicky showdown talksThe agent of Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky is set for showdown talks with Arsene Wenger as he seeks clarification over the future of his client.

Rosicky’s contract expires at the end of the current season and thus far there has been no attempt from the hierarchy at Arsenal to extend his deal. As such, and getting anxious about his future, Rosicky has instructed his agent to hold talks with Wenger.

Rumours in the English press have suggested that Rosicky is on the verge of signing for either Fulham or German side Wolfsburg. His agent, however, has confirmed that those reports are wholly without substance.

Rosicky joined Arsenal back in 2006 signing from Borussia Dortmund. Whilst he has shown plenty of promise, unfortunately for the majority of his time with Arsenal he has either spent time on the treatment table, or has played through injury. Therefore Arsenal fans have rarely seen Rosicky’s true ability on a consistent enough basis.

It is thought that Wenger will offer Rosicky the chance to stay at the Emirates, but on much reduced terms than he currently enjoys. It is also thought that any deal is likely to be for 24 months at a maximum. Whether this is acceptable to a player who is able to negotiate probably improved terms elsewhere as there would be no transfer fee involved remains to be seen.
