As Footie Online have stated continually over the past few months, Lukas Podolski who has been widely speculated by the media in Germany and England with a move to Arsenal, is to stay with Cologne and has no plans to move clubs this month.

The rumour linking Podolski with a move to North London and Arsenal was started by an unnamed football blog, but Footie Online has been aware  from the outset that the the story which was picked up by the mainstream media in England and Germany was baseless.

Indeed Arsene Wenger came out a few weeks ago and stated that he had no intention to sign the German international, in the face of growing and mounting speculation linking the Gunners with the 26 year old.

Now this evening Sky Sports are reporting that Podolski himself has announced he has no intention to move during the January transfer window and will remain at Cologne until at least the summer.

This move by Podolski, should at least put paid to the speculation surrounding the player, which in the last few weeks has reached fever pitch as the January window came closer.

    better think twice..if he decide not to transfer he ll never get the opportunity in the next summer as wenger will definitely find the replacement now…so there are no room for podolski more in the summer

    Why don’t you stop beating your chest and tell us who we WILL sign,as I have repeatedly asked over the past few weeks?
    As it stands,your site is irrelevant,offering nothing that can’t be read on another twenty!!!!

      Maybe it is because I have been right from the outset? Yet have seen this rumour spread by wildfire.
