Arsenal are continually being linked to German international and Cologne striker Lukas Podolski, with the Mail on Sunday the latest national newspaper to allege that move to the Emirates is still on for the 26 year old.

As Footie Online indicated several months ago, a January move to Arsenal was never on the cards for Podolski, a fact that first Arsene Wenger publicly declared, only to be reinforced by the player himself last week.

However, the Mail on Sunday suggests that Podolski has already been identified as one of Arsene Wenger’s top summer signings and the Gunners are already putting together details of a formal £8 million bid for the player when the season ends.

Podolksi, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2013, has already indicated to Cologne that he is unwilling to discuss a new contract until the summer and it is likely he will have many options open to him should he decide to leave Cologne.

    Lies…..we can’t afford stars. AW , the CEO n the board are only interested in cheap n mediocre players like Scillaci, Chamakh, Rosicky, Ashavin, Fabianski, Almunia, Vitoe, Santos, Gibbs, Park etc. They’re taking wages together with the other Primary school players.

    Please put these players Abou Diaby, Scillaci, Chamakh, Rosicky, Ashavin, Fabianski, Almunia, Vitoe, Santos, Gibbs n Park on sale….they’re taking wages but no meaningful contribution to the team.
