Maynard in deadline day talks with West Ham

Transfer listed Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard who last week was reported to be wanted by Premier League strugglers Wigan, is this morning being reported to be holding talks with NPower Championship League leaders West Ham United.

Sky Sports are reporting that their sources have informed them that Maynard is due at Upton Park this morning with regards a potential move to the Hammers.

Maynard who is Bristol City’s record signing, when City paid £2.25 million to Crewe in 2008, has only 6 months left on his current deal and was placed on the transfer list by the West Country club a few weeks back, after refusing to sign a contract extension, which had been on the table since May last year.
