Man City v Spurs match preview
It’s first versus third placed team at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, as league leaders Manchester City host 3rd placed Tottenham in the early afternoon kickoff.
City will be hoping to put clear water between themselves and Tottenham by bagging all three points and in turn ensure they keep three points in front of neighbours and closest rivals United, who face Arsenal later in the afternoon on Sunday.
Team news for Sunday and City will have Balotelli and Micah Richards both available for selection after the pair missed Monday’s trip to Wigan through injury. However, Kompany is unavailable due to suspension and Yaya and Kolo Toure are away on international duty.
Meanwhile Tottenham will be without Emmanueal Adebayor who is ineligible to play as part of the loan agreement between Tottenham and Manchester City. Adebayor’s absence means a likely start for Jermain Defoe. At the back, Ledley King who has been out for the last month remains a major doubt.
