Man City accept PSG’s offer for Tevez… or have they?
The Carlos Tevez / Manchester City protracted transfer saga has taken a few more twists and turns today.
Yesterday it was reported that Inter Milan had submitted an offer for Carlos Tevez, and subsequently that that offer from Inter Milan had been rejected by Manchester City, who were then thought to be mulling over a €30million offer from Paris St Germain which also included a further potential €5million in add-ons.
Reports in France and in Qatar emerged just a few hours ago that Manchester City had accepted Paris St Germain’s offer and that Tevez was to travel to Paris tomorrow, whereby he was to be offered a three-and-a-half year contract.
However, a spokesman from Manchester City has suggested that such reports are not only premature, but that they are wrong. According to him Manchester City have not been negotiating with Paris St Germain and they had not received any offer whatsoever.
It is often said that there is no smoke without mirrors, and the reports in France were equally consistent and assured. It could well be that Manchester City have released their latest statement in a bid to encourage offers above that offered by PSG?
Tevez is thought to be most keen on a move to Italy, and with AC Milan. That deal, however, appears to be dead in the water as it relied upon the finance raised by Alexandre Pato’s move to PSG which has subsequently fallen through.
