Henry in vow to make Gunners Great again

henry2 150x98 Henry in vow to make Gunners Great againThe return of Thierry Henry has already had a fairytale start, with the Arsenal legend coming off the bench to score the winner against Leeds United in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Now Henry, who is back at Arsenal for two months, following his short term loan move from New York Red Bulls, is vowing to help make The Gunners ‘great’ again.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Henry being interviewed after making his superb start to his second stint at the North London club said:

“There is a hell of a competition to qualify for the Champions League this year. The team is fifth in the table and that is not what you want to see as an Arsenal fan and, trust me, as an Arsenal player. If you think about the way they have recovered from the beginning of the season, it is clear the team is slowly getting into form.”

“I am here to help them do that and, even if it is only for 20, 30 or 35 minutes, I will go out and do my best for the team. I know my time back with Arsenal is not going to last long, so I’m just trying to take it all in. That’s something I didn’t do enough of before. You know how it is, you come here for a game every three or four days and you don’t enjoy it like you should. The last time I didn’t know when I was going to leave. Now I know exactly when it will be over and I want to make the most of it.”

The signing of Henry has proven to be a transfer masterstroke by Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger. Alleviating the pressure to make a big money signing in January whilst improving the chances of Arsenal finishing in the top four of the Premier League and with it, qualification to the Champions League next season.

One Response to Henry in vow to make Gunners Great again

  1. Wenger is to partner Henry with RVP in the premiership games and it looks like C Y Park will be sitting yet again on the bench(if he is named as substitue.) When Henry reports back to Red Bulls, Gervinho and Chamakh will be back from African Cup.

Park, be pro-active,leave Arsenal this January window transfer. Wenger is not to give you any opportunity. Hope to read before end of January that you found a new club.
