Everton defend transfer policy

goodison 150x112 Everton defend transfer policyEverton’s Chief Executive Robert Elstone has come out and publicly defended the club’s transfer policy in the light of mounting criticism from supporters, who are becoming increasingly disheartened with the transfer activity taking place at the club.

Hundreds of supported have taken to protest before the games against Aston Villa and Wolves, voicing vocally their concerns at what they perceive as a lack of progress during the last five years, whilst the club has been under the Chairmanship of Bill Kenwright.

However, Elstone has defended the club’s stance in their dealings in the transfer market, wth Elstone commenting:

“After all ins and outs, a net £35m has been spent buying new players since 2006. Over that period, as a result of being better than our rivals at negotiating, recruiting, signing, preparing and coaching players, we’ve finished an average of sixth – an enviable performance.”

Supporters though are of the view that manager David Moyes is not being supported as he should be and as such the club have attracted the ‘unwanted’ label of a ‘selling club’.
