willian 150x150 Chelsea in £20 million bid for Brazilian star closes door on HazardChelsea have made a £20 million for one time Arsenal target, Brazilian midfielder Willian, which closes any window of opportunity The Blues had of landing Lille midfielder Eden Hazard this month.

The 23 year old Willian, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk and has been trailed by clubs such as Arsenal  who tried to sign him last summer, rose to prominence during last season’s Champions League campaign for Shakhtar. With his performances helping the Ukrainian side into the knockout stages of Europe’s premier club competition.

Capped twice by the Brazilian national side, Willian offers versatility being able to play just behind the strikers or on the left side of midfield.

Currently valued at £30 million by his club, Chelsea are hopeful that they will be able to get Willian for £20 million as Andre Villas-Boas believes his pace and skill will provide Chelsea with additional strength going forward.

The move for Willian, means that any move for Hazard will remain on the backburner until the summer, but Chelsea are still hopeful of coming to an arrangement with Lille, so as they are provided first option on the 21 year old Belgian.

    goood, just get some fresh faces, willian is a good start!!
    if not going for expensive players, this is the next big thing!

    but do smth about it:

    1. creative midfielder
    2. right back defender
    3. new utility striker
    4. right winger (though i think ramires should also do that)

    get some new faces, almost anyone, just do it!

    i wonder why some are saying chelsea shouldn’t go all out to buy players. Abramovich should go all out and sign top 4 qualty players,if possible go 4 neymar, lucas moura, alves and cheik tiote. Money make improper things proper. It’s my openion. so plz go all out and sign them 4 my beloved club CHELSEA -THE BLUES

    For a Willan,player I always admire,often times I look at willan or Modric as key to unlock a midfield diagonal passes to Torres. AVB should get Willan, no time

    Avb should luiz in the midfield and Mata in the central midfield position.There is urgent need to buy young and skillful wingers with very good pace. Hazard and Williams should be bought together. Ceasar in the right back position. Chelsea will be a team to beat with all these additions. Blues for Life.

    If chelsea cannot sign hazard, it will be a disapointment to our fans. For quite some time now chelsea have been linked with some very good young and talented players such as pastore, neymer, aguero and lots more which did not go through and came as disapointment. This goes to show how weak we are in the transfer market.

    Avb should possibly get hazard to play at the right side of our midfield and willian at the left,mata plays in the middle and torres upfront then chelsea will be unstopable.

    Luiz’s passing (including long rangers and through balls), tackling, attack-consciousness, dribbling skills, foresight etc should easily make him suitable for a defensive midfielder. He easily outclasses Romeu, Essien and Mikel.
    Also, Mata is not pacy or skillful enough to be playing wide. I suggest we play him on the left side of the central midfield so he can assist play with his extremely invaluable passes.
    Again, Sturridge is too selfish to be playing from the flanks. We could use his skills upfront as a point man. There isn’t a sole central defender in this world that can have an answer to him. Let sturridge play beside torres or sub him.

    @ wisdom you made mention of some player who have been seek for but you forget wonderful Silva of man city. It was stated that he will not fit in to our style of play. Now he play better than those once. Pls get Hazard & William forget about right back we can play Ivanovic,Luis, Bosinwa& Perreira if the last two are not let go. With good creativity Torres will be something else. Suprise!! let DD go, to bring back the confidence in Torres.
