Blackburn fight to keep Samba
Blackburn Rovers have rejected Christopher Samba’s transfer request and have issued a statement saying that the burly defender is not available for transfer.
Samba signed a long-term contract just last January which ties him to Blackburn until June 2015 and the club’s latest statement indicates that Samba will be made to honour that agreement.
Samba claims that the reason he has grown ever more disillusioned with life at Ewood Park is because promises made to him upon the signing of his long-term contract have not been kept. As such he feels that the club is not moving in the right direction and for him the time is now right to move on.
If Blackburn are to avoid relegation from the Premier League players such as Samba will be crucial to that fight. Also, Samba appears to be of a character that should Blackburn maintain their stance throughout the transfer window, he would continue to give 100% to the club.
Interest in Samba is thought to be high with QPR manager Mark Hughes already confirming that the club have had a bid rejected for the defender, whilst Paris St Germain and Tottenham Hotspurs have also displayed an interest in the Frenchman who cost Blackburn just £450,000.
