Beckham signs on for a further two years at LA Galaxy
Former England Captain and Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham, has put paid to any rumours and speculation linking him with a move away from the United States and signed on for a further two years at LA Galaxy.
Beckham who had been linked to Spurs and who was widely reported to be considering to move to France with Paris Saint Germain has decided to stay with the Major League Soccer side, who he joined from Real Madrid in 2007.
Beckham’s deal with LA Galaxy expired on 31st December 2011, but has opted to extend his stay in the US for a further two years, which will likely see him see out his professional career with the American side.
In a statement issued by Beckham announcing the contract extension, Beckham said:
“This was an important decision for me. I had many offers from clubs from around the world, however, I’m still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy.”
The link with a potential move to Tottenham gathered pace last Autumn, but Beckham had always let it be known, that the only club in England he would play for would be Manchester United, who he left for Real Madrid back in 2003.
