Bassong wanted by French clubs

Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong is attracting interest from French sides Lyon and Lille, with the Daily Mail reporting that both clubs are keen on taking the 25 year old on loan until the end of the season.

It is understood though that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp would prefer a permanent move for the Cameroon international.

Bassong who joined from Newcastle United in August 2009, has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane after a series of disappointing performances.
