Arsenal vye with Real Madrid for teenage star

Arsenal have joined Spanish sides Real Madrid and Valencia in the battle to sign Alcoyano’s attacking midfielder come striker, Lucas Torres.

The 17 year old who has been tracked by Madrid since last year is regarded as one of the best young prospects in the game, a fact not lost on Alcoyano’s President, Juan Serrano.

Juan Serrano has been quoted by the media as saying about Torres:

“The interest in the player has not gone beyond asking for his situation, even if that interest is increasing, Valencia has priority over the player, as this club has a contract with Alcoyano.”

Whether a deadline day deal for Alcoyano occurs remains to be seen.
