Arsenal to make 11th hour transfer window move

emiratesinside 150x112 Arsenal to make 11th hour transfer window moveArsenal are leaving it until the 11th hour again this transfer window, mirroring their activity of the last transfer window, which saw the likes of Mikel Arteta join Arsenal on the last day of the transfer window in the summer.

Reports in this morning’s Sun newspaper suggest that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is to make a £2 million approach for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.

A target of Newcastle United, the 25 year old Mariappa is valued by Watford at £4 million, substantially more than the £1.5 million already offered by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew.

Wenger however, is desperate to sign a new defender and had Mariappa watched during their recent FA Cup defeat to Spurs and is prepared to offer the Championship club £2 million. An amount that Watford are likely to accept.

    Unless Mariappa is a Left full back, we don’t need another defender, especially one that needs to get up to the premiership pace.

    I don’t think you know much about football. There are so many coaches here in africa who can do even better than what that stingy Monsieur Wenger is doing. Contant appearance in CL, 2 EPL in 14 years and new stadia. If i may ask you,what is special about that? You must be out of your mind.

    First of all, the story comes from the sun newspaper! Haaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha, the sun, that’s a credible newspaper ( being sarcastic ) second, I wish all you so called fans who constantly slag of our team , our manager and our players would all go and play on a busy motorway! Mr wenger has not only changed arsenal football club for the better , he has changed the game of football, we will come good again, we have a bright future , with jack, the ox, frims, jerks, chesny, Gibbs, Rambo, afobe and chuks! And to the monkey brain who said we play rubbish football! Well you must have poo poo in your eyes! Support your club! Don’t slag it off!

    I do not get this, why generallise your comment about Africa? We love this club, some of us are even registered members, though on the other hand I prefer to stand with my team and manager through thick and thin because I know it’s much more painful for them when we lose….,and it’s not true that Africa has no good managers, just limited resources.

    Saw it in the sun this morning… Can’t see it happenig even though if we set to sign anyone it’s the type of player that i would expect to happen!! I dont wanna knock him because tbf I was one who slated Wenger whn he signed Chamberlian. Either way it’s a strike I want, don’t even have to be Podolski
