Van Persie fit for QPR visit

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has been confirmed fit for this afternoon’s visit of QPR at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Van Persie will play against QPR but could be rested against Fulham.

The inclusion of Van Persie will provide the Dutchman the opportunity to equal or break the record of scoring 36 goals in the Premier League in a calender year. A record held by former Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers star Alan Shearer.

Van Persie has so far scored 34 goals in 35 appearances in the Premier League throughout 2011 for Arsenal.
